President's Message
A message from the MSHRM President, Michelle Tuckerman, MBA, BSN, RN, CPHRM, CPPS, FASHRM | July 2026

Dear MSHRM Members,
It is an incredible honor to serve as President of the Michigan Society of Healthcare Risk Management. I am grateful for your trust and excited to begin this journey together.
Healthcare continues to evolve at an unprecedented pace. Our organizations face increasing complexity, emerging risks, technological advances, workforce challenges, changing legal landscapes and heightened expectations for quality and safety. In this environment, healthcare risk and patient safety professionals are more essential than ever. We are strategic partners who help create safer systems, strengthen organizational resilience, and improve outcomes for patients, caregivers, and the communities we serve.
MSHRM has long been a place where professionals come together to learn, collaborate, and support one another. That commitment remains at the heart of our organization. Our mission—to foster a collaborative learning environment that promotes professional development and leadership across the healthcare enterprise—will continue to guide everything we do.
This year, I invite each of you to become even more engaged. Share your expertise. Ask questions. Mentor a colleague. Volunteer for a committee. Attend our educational programs. Every member has knowledge and experience that strengthens our profession, and together we are far more impactful than any one of us could be alone.
Thank you for your dedication to healthcare risk management and for the vital work you do every day. I look forward to learning alongside you, celebrating our successes, and advancing our profession together.
Together, we will continue to strengthen healthcare through leadership, collaboration, and a steadfast commitment to excellence.
With gratitude,
