President's Message
A message from the MSHRM President, Becki Wolters, CPHRM | June 2026

As we celebrate Risk Management Week, I want to take a moment, on behalf of our professional community, to recognize the extraordinary individuals who serve in Healthcare Risk Management roles.
These professionals operate at the intersection of patient safety, quality, compliance, and organizational integrity. Their work is often behind the scenes, but its impact is felt everywhere, protecting patients, supporting caregivers, and strengthening the resilience of our healthcare systems.
Risk management is not a single discipline; it is a multifaceted commitment. It requires clinical insight, analytical thinking, emotional intelligence, and unwavering integrity. It can be complex, fast-paced, and at times, incredibly demanding. And too often, it is work that goes unnoticed when things go right (which is, of course, the goal).
Yet, we know the truth:
When patients are safer, when teams are supported, and when organizations navigate challenges with strength and accountability, it is because of you.
To every healthcare risk professional:
Thank you for your vigilance.
Thank you for your leadership in difficult moments.
Thank you for the quiet, relentless work that protects both people and purpose.
During this week of recognition, and every week, we honor the critical role you play and the expertise you bring to healthcare.
Your work matters. Your impact is profound. And your profession is essential.

Becki Wolters, CPHRM | MSHRM President 2025-2026
